Hard As A Rock is a short story that gets down and dirty quickly with our characters.Had I picked this book up first I probably wouldn't have continued with the PPA series. I usually don't enjoy such fast-past, no plot reads, that go directly into the sex, but this was an enjoyable read. We do get a little introduction into the world, but we focus on Iliona who is a strong independent women and Cal her hunky gargoyle co-worker. The sex is sensual, hot, and heavy.
Some of the books in the PPA series are short stories like this, while others are much fuller.

Loved the original cover and I especially love gargoyles! Ilana, has to deal with the ramblings of her pathetic ex boyfriend. When things get physical, her fierce protector jumps in...personal and professional collide. What transpires is a mind blowing sexual encounters that leaves her wanting much more and Cal is as HARD AS A ROCK!This is a 5 stars read that will have you writhing for more!
Holy Mother of Pearl! This was a hot little read! Fantastic paranormal world happening. Great characters. One complaint, it is too short! There are so many story possibilities and a great platform for a lengthy series. But the Author chooses to write in short little bursts!
I for one am getting tired of paying $2.99 for sometimes less than 20 pages. I know I am not the only one whom is getting tired of this 'style' too.
But good little pick you up!
Iliona's ex-boyfriend stops by her apartment to tell her what's wrong with her. He also wants to punctuate his comments this with a punch, but Cal, a gargoyle that works for her company, stops the punch and then sends Kenneth packing. Iliona learns he's been watching her and over her for awhile and so she lets them move it to the next step.
I don't know why I have this thing about gargoyles, but they're incredibly sexy to me and so of course I love this story. More gargoyles please!(
Delicious treat , sexy as hell. Makes you wish for a gargoyles of your very own. I wish the story had been longer, I'd really like to read more about where she works and all the hot guys ,human and paranormal. My only complaint is that I wanted more.
I bought this because the blur sounded good and there are gargoyles in it! I love stories with gargoyles I think they are so cool, sexy creatures, and rare. It was really short that, but I loved Cal, he sounds really sexy. He is now a reason why I love gargoyles and this stories has a different view of how gargoyles; are as creatures.
I gave this book five stars because I really enjoyed the sexiness the author wrote. For the price I would say it was not too bad; was nice. If you a fan of gargoyles like me; then you will like to add this to your reading collection. Especially just because of Cal, love me some gargoyle loving. Cannot wait to read the next story for some more Cal.
I love Mina Carter. She's one of the authors who's books I buy as soon as they come out. This is the first book of her "Paranormal Protection Agency" series.
She writes the way a real-life woman would experience the affair, rather than using the typical "perfect, beautiful woman" a lot of authors use. Her sex scenes are really hot and sexy. And her sense of humor shows up a lot in her books. I find myself literally laughing out loud a lot while reading her books! Mina's world of paranormals makes me wish that it was all real...
They're all unique with great stories - lots of fun and each one a wonderful read!
